The theme consists in studying the way our different regions tend to biodiversity while implementing organic methods.
These studies are based on the use of our different languages including English.
The theme includes :
- the study of local production and the reasons
- the importance of soils and waters around (rivers, lakes and seas)
- connection with the national parks
- the influence of climate and of climate changes
-the importance of pollution and the ways to deal with it.
-the study of these topics when dealt with in the press, but also in art, music and literature.
The school subjects most concerned are biology, chemistry, ecology, (agriculture when possible in the schools), and of course languages and arts.
Each school will puts a different emphasis depending on the area and the type of school but most schools also share many aspects :
- nearby agricultural zones (for France and Italy), national park
- traditional cooking
- a special interest in natural products
Concrete objectives are
- to study agricultural production in each region, the soils and the influence of water
- to compare - the ecological situations concerning agriculture
- to gauge the origins and consequences of the problems of pollution and of erosion due to water.
- to study biodiversity in its agricultural form but also in artistic, historical aspects through subjects such as local history of farming and arts.
